PLANNING FORESTRY

With the introduction of our earthworks division to Douglas Logging we reduce forest owner’s costs by working together along with the harvesting crew making the planning and development of roads easier as they are always communicating with each other. We have the people harvesting the trees planning the roads and landings best to suit the harvest area and their operations. With all parts of the operations completed in house we are able to set transparent budgets minimising external contractor influences.

Metal cartage and spreading

We have specialised 8x8 and 6x6 bottom dumping metal trucks, we can safely spread metal on steep hills and slippery roads where other trucks could not even drive on. This diminishes the need to run truck only, then dump and spread with a digger. This reduces the cost and time significantly that it takes to build roads.

We have built good working relationships with metal suppliers around northland and offer a full range of aggregate supplies and with quarries scattered throughout the north, we can provide metal cartage within close proximities.
