Peter has been contracting since 1970 when he purchased his first bulldozer

In 1990 Peter started on a forestry job with a local harvesting contractor and from there went on to contract for himself. Douglas Logging Ltd was formed in 1995. The rest is history. Peter’s knowledge and experience of the forestry and road engineering industry is expansive. Even after all these years the passion and commitment Peter has for the business is still very evident.

BRAD DOUGLAS

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Brad started to work for his father in 1993 logging in the Northland area. He started operating a chainsaw on the skid and progressed to operating machinery and had his first Foreman role in 2000. By 2004 Douglas Logging had increased in size and Brad moved on to be the Operations Manager. As the company continued to grow Brad’s involvement in the management of the business increased to the role he is in today. Now, with 100 employees and almost 150 machines Brad manages his time between six logging crews, eighteen log trucks and an earthworks and roading division.

COMMUNITY FOCUS

Over the years we have become a significant employer around the Northland area and we are totally committed to the wellbeing of the area and ensure that money is put back into the local economy. We currently sponsor all three Northern Wairoa senior rugby teams, Northern Wairoa Taniwha team, Northland swimming, Dargaville hockey, Te Kopuru and Dargaville volunteer fire brigades. We are heavily involved with the Baylys Beach Lifesaving Club sponsoring the team to travel and Compete on a national level.
